Throughout the year, members make a tax-deductible contribution of $1,100, with $1,000 going to support the grants awarded to our grant recipients and $100 going back into Impact 100 Richmond to support our daily operations and membership development.

Our grant proposals fall into five categories: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment & Sustainability, Family, and Health & Wellness. Each spring, local nonprofit organizations are invited to submit a proposal outlining how a $100,000 grant would be transformative in their work.

Our members volunteer to serve on grants committees to identify several leading proposals and conduct site visits to learn more about how those organizations plan to use the grant money. The group then selects up to five finalists.

At The Big Give in May, the finalists offer short presentation followed by a member vote. The winner is announced live at the event!
