Our Grants Review Chairs are excited for the upcoming Grant Year! We have a great team to lead our volunteers and we are eager to start filling up our committees with Impact 100 members. Our Grants Review Committee volunteers are an integral part of Impact 100, ensuring the best nonprofits come forward to present their transformational projects in May. Grants Review Members learn about projects within one of five focus areas, review proposals, conduct site visits, and nominate a finalist. It’s a great way to meet and get to know other Impact 100 members, learn about the Richmond community, and actively take part in philanthropy.
Attend Grant Review Training in March. This workshop is provided as an educational opportunity for any Impact 100 member, but it is required if you intend to serve on a Grants Review Committee. It is not required if you attended the training in the past.
Read and evaluate each proposal in your Focus Area on its merits for the Impact 100 Richmond award. Members will receive a Proposal Review Worksheet to serve as a guide for evaluation.
Attend two Focus Area meetings (one in March and one in April): one meeting to select up to three applicants for the site visit, and the second meeting to select the Finalist for that Focus Area.
Attend at least one site visit and provide feedback through a brief Site Visit Evaluation form, which is turned in to the Site Visit Captain.
