Volunteer Opportunities

As a volunteer-driven organization, we rely on all of our members to share their talents so we can be successful. You decide the level of participation that’s right and meaningful for you. 

The Leadership Team includes the Chair, Chair-Elect and Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs. Committee leaders are responsible for providing oversight and guidance to committee members and making decisions in the best interest of and on behalf of the membership. Responsibilities include active participation in monthly leadership meetings, committee meetings and Impact 100 Richmond events. 

Committee Members are responsible for active participation on their committee as described below:

Write and develop promotional materials. Share news and events via email and social media.

Direct all facets (program design and speakers, registration, catering, set up, clean up, and other logistical matters) of our three main events: Big KickBig Learn and Big Give

Review and evaluate nonprofit grant applications, attend group site visits and ultimately select which applicants will present as finalists to our membership at the Big GiveThis committee is broken into Grants Review Committees.

Recruit new members and retain existing members. Help us provide an exceptional membership experience by organizing our New Member Orientation and other social/networking events.

NEW! Impact Fellows gives young women ages 21-35 the opportunity to volunteer first and join later. In exchange for a two-year volunteer commitment on a committee assigned by Leadership, Impact 100 Richmond will pay your membership fee, giving you full member benefits including a vote at the Big Give. After two years, we hope your love for philanthropy and Richmond motivates you to become a member!

Commitment: As an Impact Fellow, you agree to be an active committee volunteer for two years and to support and/or attend a minimum of four events over your two-year fellowship. Your time commitment is determined by you and your Committee Chair.

Application Process: Send your resume or link to your LinkedIn page to membership@impact100rva.org and in a brief paragraph describe why you want to be an Impact Fellow. A committee member will contact you to set up an interview. Finalists are submitted to the Impact 100 Richmond Leadership Chair and the Community Foundation giving circle liaison for ratification.

Current Volunteer Needs:

Events (Two positions available): Love to plan parties or have experience in event planning? This is the gig for you! We have three major, annual events that require experience in event logistics, managing timelines, hiring caterers, renting space and in general, creating a great experience for our members! 

Membership (One position available): Membership is crucial to the success of Impact 100 Richmond. This committee coordinates recruitment events and executes strategies for stewardship and retention. This position is ideal for an extroverted, young woman who enjoys meeting new people. Experience (or a desire to gain it) in fundraising, sales or in the nonprofit world is a bonus!
